Mega Evolution—Pitch Black is a Pokémon TCG expansion inspired by the darker side of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A world, exploring themes of darkness, the void, abyss and nightmares through a striking selection of new Mega Evolutions.Released on July 17, 2026, the set contains 120 cards, including an 84-card base set and 36 secret rares. It is the fifth English Mega Evolution expansion (ME05) and is led by Mega Darkrai ex, alongside Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Excadrill ex, Mega Delphox ex and Mega Slowbro ex.

The expansion features Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares, Ultra Rares and Hyper Rares, giving collectors a broad range of rarities to discover. Its visual identity is defined by a darker atmosphere, centred around darkness and the void, with strong connections to the mysterious world of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Pitch Black follows the Japanese release Abyss Eye, released on May 22, 2026, and brings that darker aesthetic into the English Mega Evolution era.
